Aparna is currently heading Creative Development at Amazon Prime Video, India. She has been working in the Mumbai film industry for over a decade. Having started her film career assisting directors such as Aparna Sen, Bharatbala and Naseeruddin Shah, Aparna soon graduated to production responsibilities.
Her corporate journey began with Sony Entertainment Television as an Executive Producer from where she moved to back to films when she joined UTV Motion Pictures and line produced films such as Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. She then joined Reliance Entertainment in its formative years post which she moved to NFDC as a consultant and later to Mumbai Mantra Media Ltd. as Head – Creative Initiatives . There she managed the company’s collaboration with Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute on two important initiatives – Mumbai Mantra | Sundance Institute
In 2015, Aparna also produced a film-based chat show Jaane Pehchaane with Javed Akhtar for the EPIC television. She is also developing original, digital content for Cinetsaan Digital Pvt Ltd. where she worked as the Creative Head - Productions for a brief period during which she supervised production on the company’s maiden production Mirzya, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
